Situated 36km from Hervey Bay, Burrum Heads is a peaceful town that entice visitors with its clear warm waters. It is also a great base from which to explore the region. Special attractions of the town are the wildflowers during spring and the running of the whiting during winter.
You can explore the rivers and creeks by boat or canoe or stroll along the endless beaches. We were charmed by hundreds of colourful crabs shuffling along the beach at low tide.
If you are a keen fisherman, be sure to mark the Burrum Heads Easter Classic on your calendar. There are some major prizes at stake and you don’t even have to wet a line for a chance at a prize as there are random draws and raffles throughout the weekend.
