This is an absolutely fabulous event showcasing life in the outback. This show has so many highlights, but the animals surely take centre stage. There are 59 horses, 11 Longhorns, 11 Santa Gertrudis, 3 camels, 50 sheep, 3 dogs and even 5 piglets!
The music has a distinct Australian flavour featuring songs from some of the best known Australian country singers such as Lee Kernaghan and Adam Brandt. The 1000 seat capacity arena comes to live six nights a week with the sounds of whip cracking and animal hoofs.
The stockmen and women act out a story of two rival cattle stations. The audience is divided to support one of these stations. Competition runs rife through out the evening and you can’t help but get into it yourself! The characters are larger than life, from Johno the big boss right through to the loveable station hand Bluey.
The show also briefly lingers on the history, from the Aborigines and their relationship with the land to Banjo Peterson and his unofficial anthem, Waltzing Matilda. You’ll hear colourful language and quirky expressions unique to the outback.
You’ll also be able to sample some of the famous Outback hospitality through the dinner you’ll be served during the show. For starters there is a mixed Queensland salad with a mango dressing, mains is tenderloin steak, mash, vegetables and damper. This will all be finished off with Pavlova and billy tea.
The venue opens about one hour prior to show time so you can relax at the Aussie pub. Australian Outback Spectacular is located on the Pacific Motorway between Warner Bros Movie World and Wet 'n' Wild Water World. Bookings are essential.
