Robelle Domain

After seeing the hype about this development on television, we knew we wanted to experience it firsthand. As soon as the first heatwave of the season struck, we grabbed the esky, sunscreen and towels and headed towards Robelle Domain.

A word of advice, if you plan on checking it out for yourself, get there early. This place is popular! We arrived just after 10am and it was already packed. As can be expected the Orion Lagoon was the most popular spot on such a hot day.

The Lagoon features play areas with water squirts, stepping stones, concrete beaches, a waterfall and other exploration areas. It is a haven for toddlers with a splash pool with an average depth of 300mm. Separated from this by a foot bridge is a 50m swimming area with a depth of up to 1.5m. There is also barbeques, shelters, seats, lockers and toilets. Oh and before I forget, all this is on offer for FREE!

If you don’t want to swim yet still enjoy a picnic lunch or barbeque outdoors, you can wander through the Rainforest or along a tree top walk towards a choice of open grass areas. These areas are well sheltered from the wind, have lots of mature trees providing shade and are spacious enough for a game of cricket or just kick the ball around. Shelters, barbeques and drinking fountains are provided.
